THE PROCESS

Our concept work involves a round of discussions to understand our client’s vision on how they see their project developing, we then develop that vision using our unique in-sector knowledge to produce initial concept plans. We add our own innovation and ideas into the creation to develop a workable scheme for the location. The ideas and schemes are developed between the client and Equus until the final scheme is approved.

As builders we know the current pricing for all construction works and as such can build a budget at concept stage.

During the concept stage planning viability is a constant consideration. Our own in-house planning team advise during the concept stage to evaluate all the planning parameters to produce a scheme that may push the boundaries but is within reason and achievable planning gain, this often involves brokering initial discussions with the local government overseeing planning permission applications.

Planning drawings are produced after the concept stage has been client approved and is ready for submission. Equus takes care of the whole process.

Knowledge and know-how allow Equus to specify the products and specifications required for the entire project. As a team we design the most efficient running costs combining renewable energy systems within the project and produce a finishing and material schedule to suit all tastes.

Equus has its own in-house interior designer and architect. Whether for a wine and whisky room or a tack and feed room Equus provides bespoke design and manufacture of all built in furniture for its projects, the quality is consistently outstanding.

The setting a project within its landscape is as important as the project itself. Driveway access, security and lighting should all be nestled within a well-planned and designed landscape.

The above processes allow Equus to provide a total turnkey service and fixed price contract sums for the whole project. The team undertakes detailed financial planning and programming to ensure the project is delivered in a well considered and practical time limit and on budget.

Structural design, heating and electrical calculations, construction drawings, finishing schedule and material selection are all brought together in detailed drawing and precise schedules during this phase.

Our sites are managed by our own teams with the majority of work being carried out in house. We organise regular client/client contract administrator meetings on progress to ensure the client experiences excellent communication and feedback.

We can manage every aspect  of a project from start to finish and this is no different if a client is based internationally. If the client has their own construction team already on site or is not local to the project, we can offer to manage the delivery of the project, specify and supply specialist items; such as stables, horse walkers, foaling pens and surfaces. We can also manage the irrigation installation by sending our own team top work alongside the in-situ construction company, this ensures the drainage is correct and that the levels and all specialist equestrian equipment is perfectly installed. Upon completion we handover the specification and maintenance files and show the team how to professionally maintain the specialist products.
